I must admit, I read a the website http://nu.nl/ a lot to check up on the latest (Dutch) news.
Of course I use Addblock Plus to get the site readable in the first place. But that is not enough for me. I think the site is looking way too bright. If google can save 750 Megawatt hours a year, I am sure a darker nu.nl can save some watt’s too.

So I decided to write up a greasemonkey script to darken things up: http://joffie.swal.org/gm/nudonker.user.js. This uses an extra stylesheet to modify the existing styles.
Though It does give the desired effect, in some reloads you can still see that the rendering of the greasemonkey part takes up a little time. I guess I need to look in http://userstyles.org/stylish/ to get that effect fixed.
